Win for SHS Baseball; Loss for SHS Softball; Tie for NM Soccer
The Shelton baseball team took the season series with Aberdeen two games to one with Friday’s 2 to 0 win over the Bobcats. Pitcher Daniel Crossan and the Highclimbers’ defense allow only eight hits by Aberdeen with no walks and six strikeouts. Zain Scott batted in the ‘Climbers’ runs with his one hit. Carl Turnbow was 2 for 2 at the plate. Cam Winans, Jacob Jacoby, and Gunnar Jensen each had a hit for Shelton. The Highclimbers improve to 7-and-8 on the season, 6-and-4 in the Evergreen Conference. Shelton is currently third in the standings with five games left including Tuesday’s game at home against W.F. West on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Shelton fastpitch softball team couldn’t catch up to Aberdeen Friday, falling 10 to 3.

The Bobcats scored five runs in the top of the first inning and one run in the fourth before the Highclimbers were able to get on the board with one run in the bottom of the fifth on a single by Kaylee Rix.
Aberdeen then added four runs in the top of the sixth. Hailey Schuffenhauer batted in Shelton’s last two runs with a double to left field.
The Bobcats got a three-run home run from Ally Adams and a two-run homer from Alyssa Yakovich. Britten Neal batted in two runs. And Maysinn Jones had an RBI. Aberdeen maintained second place in the Evergreen Conference standing at 7-and-2 (12-and-2 overall).
The Highclimbers drop to 3-and-11 on the season, 1-and-8 in EVCO play. Shelton hosts Black Hills Monday.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team played Bremerton to a scoreless tie Friday. The Bulldogs are now 3-9-and-1 overall, 3-7-and-1 in the Olympic league. NM hosts Kingston Tuesday.
