Saturday, crews made great progress mopping up the fire edge. They worked to clear brush and debris away to strengthen the fire lines. Command of the fire was transitioned to a Type 3 Incident Commander and an Incident Commander trainee, and they will continue to oversee management of the team.

Today (Sunday), crews will continue work securing the perimeter of the fire. They will continue to extinguish any hotspots or flareups within the fire perimeter. Use of UAS Drones will continue to help identify and pinpoint hotspots as well as provide mapping data showing hotspot locations and directing mop-up needs. Handheld Infrared (IR) is being used on the fire perimeter to double and triple check critical mop-up areas ensuring all hotspots are completely out. Heavy equipment is being used to turn over dozer berms and allow fire crews to spray and extinguish heat inside the berms created during dozer line construction at initial fire attack. Hand crews and engines continue to cold trail around the fire perimeter. They will work into the fires burned area, at least 50 feet into the black from the fire edge. Crews are working around the outer fire perimeter in the green looking for any hidden or undetected hotspots to ensure there is no fire escape outside the primary control lines. Night patrol will continue monitoring the fire overnight watching for any flareups and providing security for fire equipment working on the fire. The team is continuing to evaluate the emergency evacuation levels as well as monitoring fire activity in and around all structures.
