Mason County’s unemployment rate increased from June to July. According to Washington State Employment Security, the County’s unemployment rate last month was 5.2%, up nine-tenths of the percent from June’s revised rate of 4.3% but four-tenths of a percent from July 2024’s rate of 5.6%.
With the exception of Pierce County (which held steady at 4.9%), adjacent counties also saw increases in unemployment rates. Jefferson County saw an increase of six-tenths to 4.5%. Kitsap County’s had a seven-tenths rise to 4.1%. While Grays Harbor (5.7%) and Thurston (4.5%) counties had increase of one percent.
