Travelers who use State Route 3 between Shelton and Belfair will want to plan extra travel time.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will close the northbound lane of SR 3 at East Pickering Road.

What to expect

  • Flaggers directing traffic at the intersection of SR 3 and East Pickering Road.
  • Intermittent stops up to 15 minutes in each direction.

During the lane closures, crews will repair the guardrail along the roadway. The work is being done during the day when crews are more easily seen. Work is scheduled around commuter hours to help minimize disruptions to travel.

Whenever near work zones please:

  • Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they’re there for everyone’s safety.
  • Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the roadways.
  • Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
  • Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
