Football Wins for SHS & NM

The Shelton football team picked up its first win under new coach Garrett Baldwin Friday dominating North Thurston 31 to 7. (Click here to watch MasonWebTV Powered by HCC’s broadcast of the game.) The Highclimbers’ defense held the Rams to 81 yards of offense while the ‘Climber offense finished with 287 yards. Jay-Jay Rhoades led Shelton’s running attack with 175 yards on the grounds. The Highclimbers head to Ingersoll Stadium next week to take on Capital on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The North Mason football team improved to 2-and-0 on the season winning Friday at Kingston 40 to 8. Bulldog highlights from the game included a 99-yard drive that resulted in the touchdown (31-yard TD pass from Danner Jones to Derek Dunham) and a 65-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Dunham, and a interception by Reid Shumaker returned 33 yards for a TD. NM holds its home opener next Friday against Olympic League foe Port Angeles.
