The Bearcats built an early 14-0 lead before the Highclimbers’ Trevor Gott ran 33 yards on a quarterback drawn for a touchdown.
However, Chehalis led 28 to 7 at the half.
In the third quarter, Shelton scored on a short field with Gott hitting JayJay Rhoades in stride on the sidelines for a 36-yard TD pass. Rhoades also added a two-point conversion.
W.F. West then went up 42 to 15 before the Highclimbers got in the end zone again, on a 7-yard TD pass from Gott to Bennett Henry.

The Bearcats added two more touchdowns while picking up a season-high 588 yards of offense.
The ‘Climbers’ A.J. Weir kicked a school record (unconfirmed) 45-yard field goal breaking the previous record of 43 set by Wier last season.
Shelton drops to 1-and-3 on the season. The Highclimbers head to McKenzie Stadium in Vancouver next Friday to open Greater St. Helen’s League play against Heritage. MasonWebTV will be on hand for that game.
