The Highclimbers got on the board first when Jay-Jay Rhoades threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Gunnar Jensen in the first quarter. However, the Falcons responded, scoring three touchdowns and building a 21 to 6 halftime lead.

Prairie’s lead ballooned to 35 to 6 by midway through the fourth quarter.

The ‘Climbers then began to comeback which started with a one-yard TD run by Rhoades making the score 35 to 12 with 4:22 to go in the game. Shelton then recovered an onside kick and went 35 yards with Ryan Brady finding Rhoades in the end zone on a seven-yard pass. Bennett Henry converted a two-point conversion by catching Brady pass in the end zone and the Highclimbers close to 35 to 20. After the ‘Climbers’ defense stopped the Falcons on their next drive, Shelton went 61 yards with Brady hitting Henry who pushed off defenders and scored. Rhoades added the two-point conversion with a pass from Brady and with 34 seconds left the scored was 35 to 28.

Jay-Jay Rhoades finished with 109 yards rushing, ran for one touchdown, caught a TD pass and threw a TD pass.

Shelton drops to 2-and-6 on the season 1-and-3 in the 3A Greater St. Helen’s League. The Highclimbers host league-leading Kelso next Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

Late in the first half, Atencio made it 15 to 0 on a one-yard TD run which was also the score at halftime.
However, the second half belonged to Olympic which scored 18 unanswered points and the Trojans remained undefeated in five League games, 7-and-1 overall.
