A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Skokomish River through Saturday morning. However, forecasters have changed flood severity from minor to moderate.

According to reports, the River crested near 17.8 feet about 1 AM and is expected to fall below the 16.5-foot flood stage late this afternoon.

At 17.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause moderate flooding, with deep and quick flood waters inundating some residential areas, many roads, and much of the farm land in the Skokomish Valley. Inundated roads include the Skokomish Valley Road, Bourgault Road West, Purdy Cutoff Road, and Highway 106.

The only road closure at last report was the Skokomish Valley Road which was closed Thursday due to flooding. According to Mason County Public Works, the road will be closed until further notice.
