Wins for SHS Hoops; SHS & NM Wrestling Results
The Shelton girls’ basketball team turned in another solid performance Saturday, beating Heritage 64 to 30. The Highclimbers built a 13-point first quarter lead that the Timberwolves cut to 6 before the ‘Climbers went up 16 in the second. Shelton took control of the game in the third quarter, leading by 28 heading into the fourth. The Highclimbers were led by Janelle Krise (Pictured right) who scored 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and had 6 steals. Olivia Swanson add 17 points. Sonni Cordova chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. And Cedar Wily pulled down 14 rebounds. Shelton improved to 3-and-0 on the season. The Highclimbers head to Rochester Tuesday.

The Shelton boys’ basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit and beat Heritage 45 to 43 on Saturday. The Highclimbers trailed the Timberwolves until early in the fourth quarter when they tied the game at 38 and led by as many as five about midway through the final period. Heritage tied the game at 43 with a minute and a half left. Brayden Phipps put the ‘Climbers up two and after the T-Wolves next shot rimmed off, Shelton ran off the remaining time on the clock with timely timeout and drawing fouls. Phipps led the Highclimbers in scoring with 11 points. Masyn Gard and Jeremy Myers added six points each. Bennett Henry and Fletcher Henry each added five points. And Billy Silvester had four points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Shelton improved to 2-and-3 on the season. The Highclimbers play at Rochester Tuesday.

The Lady-‘Climbers wrestle in the Grays Harbor Championships at Aberdeen High School next Saturday.
The Shelton boys’ wrestling team placed 10th in the George Wilfong Classic at Puyallup High School on Saturday.
