High School Sports Results from 2/3/26

Hoops Win for SHS Boys; Hoops Losses for SHS Girls, NM Girls & Boys

The Shelton boys’ basketball team pulled away from W.F. West Tuesday for a 53 to 40 Evergreen Conference win that appears to put the Highclimbers into the postseason.

The ‘Climbers started to pull away from the Bearcats in the second quarter, building a 10-point lead that the team from Chehalis cut to five at the half. The third quarter saw Shelton go up 11 and then lead by 14 in the fourth to secure a third EVCO win in a row and put the Highclimbers in the three-way tie with Aberdeen and W.F. West for third place in the standings. (To make the postseason, the ‘Climbers need to finish fourth or better in the Evergreen Conference.)

Shelton was led in scoring by Brayden Phipps’ 18 points. And Masyn Gard added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bearcats were led in the loss by Wyatt Hoffman’s 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Highclimbers are now 8-and-12 on the season, 3-and-6 in the Evergreen Conference. They wrap up the regular season at conference-leading Tumwater on Friday.

Shelton girls’ basketball team lost at W.F. West Tuesday 65 to 21. The Lady Highclimbers have a 14-and-6 overall record, 5-and-4 in the Evergreen Conference, tied with Black Hills for third place. Shelton hosts Tumwater on Thursday to wrap up the regular season. However, the Shelton girls also appear to have earned a spot in the post season. Thursday’s game between the Highclimbers and the Thunderbirds is on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost to Bainbridge Tuesday 58 to 22. The Bulldogs are 7-and-12 on the season, 4-and-9 in the Olympic League. NM wraps up the regular season at Olympic on Thursday.

The North Mason boys’ basketball team lost at Bainbridge Tuesday 76 to 52. The Bulldogs now have a 7-and-12 overall record, 3-and-10 in Olympic League play. NM wraps up the regular season Thursday hosting Olympic.
