Mason Health, Mason Health hospitalist physicians and Mason Health Foundation are investing in the future of Mason County through a series of health care scholarships now open to Mason County students, residents and workers. New this year includes an exciting opportunity for any senior high school student in Mason County wanting to pursue an education in any healthcare associated field. The Mason Health Hospitalist Group Scholarship Fund, administered through Mason Health Foundation with donations from the Mason Health hospitalists, joins Mason Health and the Foundation’s growing number of scholarship opportunities. Check out each of the following scholarships and encourage anyone who may be eligible to apply!

NEW — Mason Health Hospitalist Group Scholarship Fund:

This scholarship will be awarded to students desiring to attain a four-year college degree (bachelor’s degree) leading to application in the health care fields. Health care fields may include traditional provider services (e.g. medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy), allied health (e.g. pharmacy, nutritional science), social sciences, health care administration, behavioral health as well as those desiring to further the medical sciences through basic science pathways (e.g. biochemistry, bioengineering, laboratory medicine, etc.).

The amount of the scholarship is $10,000 for the award year 2026.

  • Applicant may be any senior high school student living in Mason County interested in a four-year degree in a healthcare associated field.
  • Applications can be downloaded from www.masonhealth.com/foundation/hospitalist-scholarship-fund.
  • Please return the application to the High School Counselor’s Office or mail directly to: Hospitalist Scholarship Fund – Mason Health Foundation, PO Box 1668, Shelton, WA 98584.
  • Deadline is April 30, 2026. Applications must be delivered or postmarked by this date.

Mason Health Shelton High School Health Sciences Academy Nursing Scholarship:

Mason Health is once again offering a full-ride nursing scholarship for Shelton High School Health Sciences Academy students who have completed the requirements to be eligible for this scholarship. The Mason Health scholarship will provide funding for all tuition, books, uniforms, lab and simulation fees, and licensure application and licensure examination associated with obtaining a nursing license. The selected candidates must satisfy any enrollment requirements of their post-secondary school as well as those of the Mason Health, Health Sciences Academy Scholarship. 

  • Applicant must have completed a job shadow at Mason Health through the Health Sciences Academy at Shelton High School.
  • Additional requirements include agreement to work at Mason Health for two years after the completion of nursing school.
  • Applications can be obtained through the Shelton High School College and Career Center or through the SHS Scholarship website: https://shs.sheltonschools.org/student_services/career_center/scholarship_info.
  • Deadline is April 1, 2026.

Foundation Auxiliary Healthcare Scholarship:

The 2026 Foundation Auxiliary Scholarship application is now available. If you are a Mason Health employee (part-time or full-time), or a Mason County high school student graduating this year, you may apply. This scholarship is available to anyone wanting to pursue a career in health care.

  • Any Mason Health employee or Mason County high school student is eligible.
  • Applications can be downloaded at www.masonhealth.com/foundation/mason-general-hospital-auxiliary or obtained at the Foundation office located at 2505 Olympic Highway North, Suite 170, Shelton, WA 98584 between 8-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • All scholarship applications must be postmarked or received by Friday, April 24, 2026, at 4 p.m. in order for your application to be considered.

Foundation Centennial Guild Kristi Armstrong Memorial Scholarship:

The Centennial Guild is excited to provide scholarships to those who live or work in Mason County and are dedicated to pursuing education in the medical field. These scholarships cater to applicants of all ages, including 2026 high school graduates, current college students, individuals contemplating a career change, or professionals seeking advancement in their medical careers. The scholarship is in memory of Kristi Armstrong, a registered nurse at Mason General Hospital who died in 2016. The scholarship was created in her honor to help ease financial burdens for those pursuing medical careers.

Mason Health Foundation furthers the mission of Public Hospital District No.1 by enhancing the quality of health care enjoyed by patients of Mason County. The Foundation provides financial support to Mason Health.
