Win for SHS Baseball; Loss for NM Softball
The Shelton baseball team beat Klahowya Monday 9 to 1. The Highclimbers scored two runs in the second inning, four runs in the fourth, and three runs in the five inning on their way to a 3-and-0 record. Daniel Crossan led the ‘Climbers at the plate going 2 for 2 and batting in three runs. Mason Ehler had a two-run double. Jacoby Jacoby hit an RBI triple. And Michael Carlson and Silas Hoff batted in a run each.
On the mound for Shelton, Cam Winans gave up an earned run on one hit with three walks and three strike outs in three innings. Carlson pitched three innings allowing two hits, three walks and striking out one. And Carl Turnbow retired the three batters he face in the seventh, striking out one.
The Highclimbers host R.A. Long Wednesday.
The North Mason fastpitch softball team lost a slugfest Monday, falling to Klahowya 18 to 12. Each team recorded 11 hits as the Eagles came back from an 8 to 2 deficit to the Bulldogs by scoring two runs in the fifth inning, seven in the sixth, and seven in the seventh. NM was led in the loss by Sydnnie Imlay who was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and four RBI. And Taylor Madison who was 4 for 5 with at home run and three RBI. Fiona Youngberg hit two doubles and batting in a run. And Kennady Carson had an RBI. North Mason drops to 1-and-1 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs travel to East Jefferson Tuesday.
