SHS & MMK Track & Field; Losses for SHS & NM Softball, MMK Baseball
The Shelton track and field teams competed in the 60th Shaner Invitational at Tumwater District Stadium on Friday. In the team scores, the Lady Highclimbers finished 7th while the ‘Climber boys were 10th.
Top Finishers from Shelton:
Claire Warnock won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, was 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal best 45.88a, and was 3rd in the 200 meters.
Trayson Batholomew was 3rd in the boys’ 1600 meters.
Madison Lohmeyer placed 4th in the girls’ 3200 meters and 6th in the 1600 meters with a personal best 5:49.49a.
Bennett Henry took 5th in the boys’ javelin.
Katelyn Sartori finished 6th in the girls’ long jump.
The Mary M. Knight track and field teams competed in the Spudder Track and Field Classic at Ridgefield High School on Friday. In team scoring, the Lady Owls were 21st while the boys from Matlock were 25.
Top MMK Finishers:
Bella Buck took 3rd in the girls’ javelin with a personal best 115′ 0″.
Logan Green placed 4th in the boys’ long jump.
Lexi Stamper was 5th in the girls’ shot put.
The Shelton fastpitch softball team wrapped up the regular season Friday with a 9 to 2 loss at Tumwater. The Highclimbers’ Hailey Schuffenhauer (hit a double) and Liv Rasmussen batted in runs. Abby Fauula was 2 for 3 at the plate. Lexi Rowland was 2 for 4 with a double. Jonni Gouley (hit a double), Emi McFarlan, and Kaylee Rix each had hits for the ‘Climbers. Shelton finishes the season with a 10-and-10 overall record and fourth in the Evergreen Conference at 6-and-9. The Highclimbers are in the postseason and play in the play-in game for the 2026 District 4 Class 3A Fastpitch Softball Tournament on Wednesday. Shelton’s opponent is Mountain View and the game will be played in Vancouver.
The North Mason fastpitch softball team was held to one hit Friday and finished the regular season with a 2 to 0 loss at Kingston. The Bulldogs’ hit was a double by Kaylani Ivie in the third inning. NM finishes the season with an 11-and-10 overall record, fifth in the Olympic League at 6-and-8. The girls from Belfair should earn a spot in the 2026 District 3 Class 2A Fastpitch Softball Tournament which is set for next Friday at the RAC in Lacey.
The Mary M. Knight baseball team wrapped up the season Friday with a 15 to 1 loss at Wishkah Valley. The Owls finish the season with an 0-12-and-1 record.
