[VIDEO] Tuesday afternoon, Mason Health held a reception to honor all those nominated for the 2026 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Here is video from the ceremony:

Nearly 20 nurses were recognized with two sharing this year’s award: Amanda Diaz, RN (Birth Center) and Patricia (Tricia) Agnese, RN (Medical Surgical Pediatrics).

The date of the ceremony was chosen intentionally as it coincides with National Nurse Week, Mason Health Week, and the American Hospital Association’s National Hospital Week. Also, May 12th marks the 206th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Nightingale is the founder of modern nursing.

The DAISEY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is part of the national DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate care that nurses provide patients and families every day.

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families, and colleagues. The award recipient is chosen by a committee of Mason Health staff. Click here for more information and nominate an extraordinary nurse.
