There are 15 athletes and one team from Mason County will be competing at the state level. Some of those championships are this week including golf, fastpitch softball and tennis.
Shelton’s Andrea Fogo will be competing in the Class 3A Girls State Golf Championships Tuesday and Wednesday at Deer Park Golf Club. Fogo teas off at 12:40 PM.
North Mason’s Owen Oblizalo will be competing in the Class 2A State Golf Championships Tuesday and Wednesday at Tumwater Valley Golf Club. Oblizalo teas off at 12 PM.
Mary M. Knight’s Maelynn Nygaard and Cloey Fletcher will be competing in the Class 1B State Golf Championships at Liberty Lake Golf Course Tuesday and Wednesday. Nygaard teas off at 11:24 AM while Fletcher’s tea time is 12:34 PM. ,
The Shelton fastpitch softball team is headed to the Class 3A State Tournament that begins Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the RAC (Regional Athletic Complex) in Lacey. The Highclimbers’ opening round opponent is Kennewick. The game is scheduled for 3 PM on Field 2. Shelton, with a 13-and-11 record, is seeded 19th while the Lions, at 14-and-10, were seeded 14th.

North Mason’s doubles team of S. Stanley and L. Hicks will be competing in the Class 2A Boys’ Tennis Championships Friday and Saturday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle. The 16th seeded Stanley/Hicks are facing a doubles team from Tumwater in the first round.

Claire Warnock in the 300-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles

The Class 3A State meet is May 28th through May 30th at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

The Class 1B State meet is May 28th through May 30th at Zaepfel Stadium at Eisenhower High School in Yakima.
North Mason’s track and field teams are competing in the Class 2A District 3 Meet (West Central District Championships) at Bremerton High School on Wednesday. The top three finishers in each event at District will advance to the State Championships at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma May 28th through May 30th.
