The State Track and Field Championships wrapped up Saturday at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima and Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma with one state champion coming from Mason County: Logan Green.

Mary M. Knight sent three athletes to the Class 1B Championships in Yakima.
One of those Owls, Logan Green, won the State Championship in the boys’ high jump with a height of 6′ 2″.
Lexi Stamper finished second in the State in the girls’ shot put with a distance of 37′ 3/4″ and placed seventh in the State in the girls’ discus with a throw of 104′ 3″.
And Bella Buck finished fourth in the State in the girls’ javelin with a thro ow 109′ 5″.

North Mason sent five athletes to the Class 2A Championships in Tacoma.
One of those Bulldogs, Samantha Neil, finished second in the state in the girls’ pole vault with a height of 11′ 3″.
Brylie Biehl was sixth in the state in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles with at time of 16.12 seconds and 14th in the 100-meters.
Derek Dunham was 15th in the boys’ shot put.
Alisha Carpenter finished 15th in the girls’ 3200.
And Palmer Neil placed 17th in the boys’ pole vault.

Shelton sent three athletes to the Class 3A Championships at Mount Tahoma: Claire Warnock in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles; Trayson Bartholomew in the boys’ 800 meters; and Hunter Daggett in the boys’ discus. Unfortunately, these Highclimbers competed in the preliminaries and did not make the finals.
