Both directions of State Route 3 are closed near Sunnyslope Road in Kitsap County.
The highway is scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. Monday, June 29.
Signed detours are in place for vehicles, trucks and people who walk or roll.
The Washington State Department of Transportation needs help from travelers:
- Add extra time to help prevent delays.
- Consider posting discretionary trips.
- Travel early in the morning or late in the day.
Travelers will see temporary traffic lights to help manage flow along Sunnyslope Road and Lake Flora Road. People are strongly encouraged to drive the posted speed limits. Temporary signals and speed limits are for everyone’s safety.
This work is part of a project to remove barriers to fish at five locations in the Gorst and Port Orchard areas.
