Ballots for the August 4th Primary Election have been dropped in the mail and should be showing up in mailboxes later this week.
All registered voters in Mason County will receive a ballot as there are several county-wide races including four running for Mason County Auditor, two running for Mason County Clerk, two running for Mason County Treasurer, and unopposed races for Assessor, Coroner, Prosecutor, and Sheriff. There are also races for U.S. Congress, 35th Legislative District, and State Supreme Court.
Seven people are running for Mason County Commissioner District No. 3. Only those in District 3 will be deciding the top two candidates who will advance to the November General Election.

Three Fire Districts in the County have Emergency Medical Services levies on their respective ballots.
Voters in Central Mason, Mason County Fire District No. 12 (Matlock area), and North Mason Regional Fire Authority will be voting on those property tax measures.
Some areas will also see Precinct Committee Officer elections. To vote for a PCO, you “must affirm” your party.
