Elections officials in the Mason County Auditor’s Office counted the last nine ballots from the August 4, 2026 Primary Election on Tuesday and certified the results.
It is now official that Democrat Miguel Gutierrez and Republican George Blush will appear on the November 3, 2026 General Election Ballot for Mason County Commissioner District No. 3.
The final numbers show Gutierrez getting 39.66% (2,156 votes) and Blush finished with 17.02% (925 votes).
The numbers for the others in the race: Daniel Cameron 13.69% (744 votes); Eric Onisko 13.48% (733 votes); Karen (Schade) Sullivan 7.05% (383 votes); Rick Lee 4.75% (258 votes); and Lovejoy Schaefer 4.23% (230 votes).
There were seven write-ins, seven overvotes (some one who voted for more than one candidate), and 98 undervotes (some one who didn’t vote for any of the seven candidates).
The General Election race for Mason County Auditor will see Democrat Tamra “Tam” Ingwaldson face Republican incumbent Steve Duenkel. The official results show 40.68% (7,987 votes) for Ingwaldson and 37.1% (7,284 votes) for Duenkel.
Others in the race: Republican Monika Balmer 14.58% (2,863 votes) and Vivian Glass (who states no party preference) 7.59% (1,491 votes). There were seven write-ins (0.04%), five overvotes, and 319 undervotes.
The official results in the race for Mason County Clerk show Republican incumbent Charles Rhodes has 99 more votes than Republican challenger Tammy Clark. Rhodes finished with 49.01% (7,858 votes) and Clark ended up with 48.39% (7,759 votes). There were 417 write-ins (2.6%), two overvotes, and 3,920 undervotes. Both candidates will appear on the November ballot.
The final numbers for Mason County Treasurer: Incumbent Democrat Brittany Pearson with 54.01% (10,497 votes), Republican challenger Randy Lewis with 45.9% (8,921 votes); 17 write-ins (0.09%), three overvotes, and 518 undervotes.
The official results for the Central Mason Fire & EMS levy: 63.65% approval. That’s 4,682 voting “Yes” and 2,674 voting “No” with 266 undervotes.
Mason County Fire District No. 12’s levy has a 73.32% approval rate in Mason County. That’s 294 “Yes” votes to 107 “No” votes with eight undervotes. In Grays Harbor County, there were 10 “Yes” votes and 23 “No” votes, dropping the approval rate to 70.05%.
North Mason Regional Fire Authority’s levy passed with 73.68% approval in Mason County. That’s 2,595 voting “Yes” and 927 voting “No” with 72 undervotes. In Kitsap County, there were 76 “Yes” votes and 35 “No” votes, making the approval rate 73.52%.
The official results for 35th Legislative District races:
Incumbent Republican Drew MacEwen 51% (25,643 votes) and Democratic challenger Carolina Mejia 48.88% (24,574 votes) for State Senator.
Incumbent Republican Dan Griffey 53.26% (26,669 votes); Democrat Jim Pierson 28.06% (14,047 votes); and Democrat Shaena Garberich 18.61% (9,320 votes) for State Representative Position No. 1. Griffey and Pierson are on the General Election Ballot.
Incumbent Republican Travis Couture 53.23% (26,651 votes) and Democrat Maria Littlesun (46.67% (23,368 votes) for State Representative Position No. 2.
The official results for 6th Congressional District U.S. Representative: incumbent Democrat Emily Randall 58.77% and Republican Teresa Fox 25.54%.
Mason County Elections Officials counted 19,956 ballots from the primary election. With 48,581 registered voters, the turnout for the Primary Election was 41.08%.
