Win for NM Soccer; Losses for SHS & MMK Volleyball & SHS Soccer; SHS AD Named to WIAA Committee
The North Mason girls’ soccer team started the season with a 4 to 1 win over Shelton Thursday. The Bulldogs got their first goal in the 17th minute and led one-nil at the half. NM added their second goal early in the second half in the 48th minute, went up three-nil four minutes later and were up four-nil in the 75th minute. The Highclimbers scored their goal late in the match.
North Mason hosts Port Angeles next Thursday. Shelton travels to North Thurston on Tuesday.
The Shelton volleyball team dropped its season opener to Onalaska three sets to none. The Highclimbers host Rainier on Tuesday.
The Mary M. Knight volleyball team fell to Quilcene Thursday three sets to one: 22-25; 25-20; 17-25; 8-25. The Owls head to Evergreen Lutheran Friday.
At the WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association) Executive Board meeting held on August 16th, Shelton Athletic Director, Scott Chamberlain, was named treasurer/finance subcommittee chair for the 2026-2027 school year. Other action during the meeting included approving the purchase of new WIAA Basketball Floor for Tacoma Dome State Basketball Championships. Next Executive board meeting is September 28th.
