[LIVE VIDEO] Watch the 2026 high school football season opener with Shelton hosting North Mason in the Mason County Cup ~ the Battle for the Axe. Kickoff for the game between the Highclimbers and the Bulldogs on Jack Stark Field at Highclimber Stadium is 7 PM. The MasonWebTV Powered by HCC broadcast crew of Dedrick Allan, Andy Conklin, Gerry Apple and Jeff Selby will start the pregame show at 6:30 PM.
Last season, Shelton was 2-and-7 while North Mason made the postseason and finished 7-and-3 overall. The last time the Bulldogs and Highclimbers played was September 1, 2023 when the ‘Climbers beating the boys from Belfair 35 to 19. Shelton has won the previous three meetings with North Mason. The last Bulldog win over the Highclimbers was 20 to 0 on September 6, 2019. Shelton leads the series with North Mason seven to four.
