Wins for SHS Football & MMK Volleyball…
The Shelton football team picked its first win of the season on Friday, 14 to 13 over North Thurston at South Sound Stadium.

The Rams scored first on a nine-yard TD pass from Nicholas Nutu to Mateo Henry with 2:49 left in the first quarter.
The Highclimbers tied things up in the second quarter on a two-yard TD run by Jay Jay Rhoades with 7:04 left in the first half.
North Thurston took the lead back (13 to 6) on a one-yard TD run by Faatoa Tunai with 2:10 left in half.
Shelton then marched down the field and took a 14-13 lead on a nine-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Brady to Hayden Cash and a two-point conversion run by Noah Parker with 20 seconds left in the first half.
The second half was a defensive battle with no points scored. Of note though, the Rams lost starting quarterback Nicholas Nutu to injury in the third quarter.

Both teams are now 1-and-1 on the season. The Rams play at Rogers next Friday while the ‘Climbers host River Ridge on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Mary M. Knight volleyball team beat Oakville Friday three sets to one: 25-18; 25-17; 22-25; 26-24. The Owls are now 2-and-3 on the season. MMK heads to Wishkah Valley Tuesday.
