Mason Health celebrates Kimberly Clark, Patient Financial Services Denial Specialist, as September 2026 Employee of the Month.
While patients may not always see the work happening behind the scenes, dedicated professionals like Kimberly Clark, Patient Financial Services Denial Specialist, are often their strongest advocates. As a member of Mason Health’s Patient Financial Services team, Clark works tirelessly to navigate the complexities of healthcare billing, often working on behalf of patients with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed correctly and issues are resolved. In recognition of her unwavering commitment to patients and her exceptional dedication to service, Mason Health is proud to name Kimberly Clark its September 2026 Employee of the Month.
Since she started at Mason Health in July 2024, Clark has been recognized as a dependable team member who approaches every task with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Whether assisting patients, supporting colleagues, or helping improve daily operations, she continually makes a meaningful impact on those around her.
“Kimberly has had a tremendous impact on the successful functioning of Mason Health,” said Coding Manager Rachel Conley, who nominated Clark. “On hire, she was given the herculean task of organizing and creating a process for dealing with payment denials. With minimal direction she approached this challenge with such determination and creativity. In these financially challenging times, patients would appreciate Kimberly enormously if they knew how hard she fought to get their bills covered.”
Clark previously worked for a chiropractor’s office in Graham, Wash., where she first learned the ins and outs of working with insurance companies. When she and her family moved to Shelton to build a home in a rural community, she tired of the commute and looked closer to home for a job opportunity.
In her role, Clark works directly with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, correct billing discrepancies and secure authorizations. Her work requires a combination of technical expertise, persistence, and compassion as she helps ease the financial stress that can accompany medical care. By advocating for patients and working diligently to find solutions, Clark helps remove barriers to care and allows patients to focus on what matters most, their health and recovery.
In her off time, Clark enjoys traveling with her sons and wife, dirt biking, boating, engaging in outdoor sports and tending to their mini-farm, where they have pigs, goats, chickens, five dogs, two cats and four snakes.
