Win for MMK Football; SHS & NM Cross Country Results; Loss for NM Volleyball…
The Mary M. Knight six-man football team improve to 4-and-0 on the season Saturday, blanking Wishkah Valley 46 to 0. The Owls scored the bulk of their points in the first quarter.
MMK’s Ryder Lake had two rushing touchdowns from 43 yards and 15 yards.
Dalton Triggs had a 47-yard TD run, intercepted a Loggers’ pass, and recovered a fumble.
Cash King caught a 15-yard TD pass.
Tyler Baslington pulled a loose ball out of the air and returned it 20 plus yards for a touchdown.
Gabe Walters had a 34-yard rushing TD.
And #4 (name not on the available roster) had a five-yard touchdown run and recovered an onside kickoff.
Saturday’s game was the second time Mary M. Knight beat the Wishkah Valley this season. The first meeting on September 12th was non-league while this game counts as a Coastal League win for the Owls.
The MMK travels to Clallam Bay next Friday night.
Shelton and North Mason participated in the HOKA 30th John Payne Cross Country Invite on Saturday.
The Bulldog girls finished 14 in the Silver division with Alisha Carpenter coming in 9th. The Lady Highclimbers Addison Aldrich was 27th in the Silver division but her team did not place.
On the boys’ side, Shelton was 18th while North Mason was 24th in the Bronze division. Top finishing Bulldog was Benjamin Geiser who finished 47th. Top Highclimber was Diego Witz who finished 65th. There were 232 runners in this race.
Shelton runs at Centralia on Wednesday while North Mason has an Olympic League meet at Battle Point Park on October 13th.
The North Mason volleyball team lost at Onalaska on Saturday in three sets. The Bulldogs are now 1-and-9 on the season. NM returns to Olympic League play on Tuesday at Port Angeles.
