Win for NM Softball; Loss for SHS Baseball; NM Track & Field Results

The North Mason fastpitch softball team walked off with a 6 to 5, come from behind win over Bainbridge Thursday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Spartan for most of the game and were down 5 to 4 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Charlie Brown led of the inning with a double to center field. Kennady Carson followed with a single to center field that moved Brown to third. Taylor Madison doubled on a ground ball to center field that sent Brown in to tie the game and Carson scored the winning run from first on the hit.
Taylor Madison finished 3 for 4 at the plate with the double and two RBI.
Kennady Carson was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Mikayla Minnis went 1 for 3 and batted in two runs.
Adrianna Crowley was 2 for 3 with a double.
Charlie Brown was 2 fo 3 with a double.
Sydnie Imlay batted in a run.
Addyson Roy picked up the win in the pitching circle allowing one hit, one walk and striking out five in two innings of relief.
North Mason improved to 12-and-5 on the season, 7-and-4 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs are currently fourth in the standings. NM plays at league-leading Port Angeles Friday.


The Shelton baseball team lost the regular season finale at Tumwater Thursday 9 to 2. The Highclimbers outhit the T-Birds 8 to 5 in the loss.
Zane Scott had two of those hits (one was a double). Michael Carlson had the ‘Climbers’ only RBI.
Shelton finishes the regular season with an 8-and-12 overall record, 7-and-8 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers’ third place in the EVCO play qualifies Shelton for a post season game Friday. They play at Mountain View in Vancouver on May 9th on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC. First pitch for this “Pigtail” game into the Class 3A District 3/4 Tournament is 4:30 PM.


After the first day of the Olympic League Track and Field Championships at North Mason High School’s Phil Pugh Stadium Thursday, Bremerton leads the boys’ scoring and Bainbridge tops the girls’ team scoring.
Top Bulldog finishers from Day 1:
Samantha Neil won the girl’s pole vault with a personal record (PR) of 10-06.00 feet.
Adrianna “A” Tupolo finished 3rd in the girls’ shot put.
Brylie Biehl placed 4th in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles.
Owen Dukesheir was 4th in the boys’ javelin and 7th in the boys’ discus.
Blake Evans took 4th in the boys’ high jump.
The girls’ relay team of Addisen Sheridan, Adrianne Tupolo, Natalya Garcia & Brylie Biehl finished 4th in the 4 x 100.
The boys’ relay team of Blake Evans, Derek Dunham, Shawn McBride & Malik King placed 5th in the 4 x 100.
Audrey Petersen was 6th in the girls’ shot put.
Natalya Garcia took 7th in the girls’ 100 meters.
Malik King finished 7th in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
The girls’ relay team of Jhasmine Espinoza, Sophia Mairs, Melandra Steiger, & Sophia Sparks placed 7th in the 4 x 200.
Delilah Schmidt was 8th in the girls’ shot put.
Radly Sumpter took 8th in the boys’ discus.
Competition continues Saturday at Phil Pugh Stadium.
