November Giving

November is your chance to join HCC in supporting Mason County kids with two different campaigns- SHS Food Pantry Drive and Warm Hands Project!

2ND ANNUAL SHS FOOD PANTRY DRIVE!

For the second year in a row local businesses are rallying around the High Climbers to help stamp out hunger.   The Shelton High School Library hosts a food bank for students in need of emergency food and supplies.    During November, HCC, OCCU, Columbia Bank, and Heritage Bank are collecting donations for the food bank.   The request is for single serving and microwavable items that are easy to grab and eat on the go.   Drop off your donations at any of Mason County locations of the participating businesses.   A list of requested items is below:

Ӣ Ravioli Ӣ Healthy Soups Ӣ Granola Bars Ӣ Fruit Cups Ӣ Mac & Cheese Ӣ Popcorn Ӣ Fruit Snacks Ӣ Tuna Ӣ Ramen Ӣ Oatmeal Ӣ Pudding Ӣ Apple Sauce Ӣ Juice Boxes Ӣ Hot Chocolate

17TH ANNUAL WARM HANDS PROJECT!

Hundreds of Mason County children will be able to enjoy warm hands and heads during our cold winter months this year thanks to the seventeenth annual “WARM HANDS” project sponsored this year by Kristmas Town Kiwanis.

WARM HANDS is the collection of new mittens, gloves, and hats for Mason County elementary school children. The items are collected during the entire month of November and then delivered to elementary schools throughout Mason County the first week of December.

The need for such clothing is high in our county and this is an easy way for all members of our community to help our kids stay warm and safe.

The goal this year is to raise 1200 sets of hats and mittens!

New hats, gloves, and mittens may be dropped off at the following participating businesses:

  • Olsen’s Furniture
  • Mariano’s Fine Jewelry
  • Peninsula Credit Union-Shelton and Belfair branches
  • Berkshire Hathaway; Bakala-State Farm
  • Hood Canal Communications ”“ Shelton and Union offices
  • The Shopper
  • Tupper’s Floor Coverings and Interiors
  • Maple Glen Senior Living
  • Annie’s Quilt Shoppe
