Filing for City Council Begins Monday

Candidate filing for the four new Shelton City Council positions begins 9 AM Monday and ends 4:30 PM Wednesday. There is a $60 filing fee and those interested in running must file for a specific seat. There is no withdrawal period and the filing fee in non-refundable.

You can file online through the Mason County Elections website or in person at 411 N 5th St, Shelton WA 98584 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

If three or more candidates file for any one position, then there will be a primary at the February 13, 2018 Special Election. The top two vote-getters at the February Election will advance to the April Election.

If one or two candidates file for any one position, then they will skip the February Election and appear on the April 24, 2018 Election.
